Cyber attack simulator, ethical hacker, scenario analyst. These are the three job profiles most requested by companies in Italy in the cybersecurity field, a sector in strong expansion with the acceleration of digitalization and the consequent increase in online crime. In Italy, the problem of 'talent shortage', or the difficulty of employers in finding people with the right skills, stands at 76%, as emerged from the research conducted by ManpowerGroup. To make the point is the latest Clusit Report on cybersecurity which outlined a world situation of red alert: in six months the "devastating" attacks went from 49% to 74%. In our country, the National Cybersecurity Agency, established with the law of August 4, 2021, is taking shape.

To cope with the lack of talent in this sector, companies today rely more and more on headhunters with an increase in requests for technical profiles at the expense of managerial profiles who in the first six months of 2021 - explains the Report - underwent a slight bending. According to data analysis by Linkedin Talent Insights and Experis Italia, there are about 6,000 professionals in the sector in Italy. The average duration of employment is one and a half years, in line with the average for technology professionals. The Italian regions where the greatest concentration is found are Lombardy, Lazio and Piedmont; while the universities most frequented by cybersecurity experts are the Sapienza of Rome, the University of Milan, the Milan Polytechnic and the Turin Polytechnic.
