(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 15 - "The League believes that the government should undertake to ensure that strategic companies in the Defense sector such as the former Oto Melara and former Wass, put up for sale by Leonardo, remain Italian and under public control, through the acquisition from part of Fincantieri ".
This is what party sources say.
"The protection of national interests, especially in a delicate sector such as defense, requires the exclusion of the sale of foreign industrial groups also to protect innovation, production capacity and extremely qualified jobs. Fincantieri, under the skilful leadership of Giuseppe Bono, has achieved great successes on international markets, and these acquisitions would further strengthen its capabilities also in European defense programs, where Italy can play a leading role only by maintaining and strengthening the industrial apparatus, certainly not by selling it to rivals and competitors ", conclude the same sources.
