More than two decades after the release of its last episode,
Lethal Weapon
, one of the classics of American detective cinema, returns for a fifth installment.
First released in 1987, it has since been one of the biggest commercial successes of the late 1980s, with revenues reaching $ 120.2 million worldwide.

If the 5th film had been announced in December 2020, doubt as to the reliability of the project had remained after the death of its director Richard Donner in July.
Finally, a year after the first announcement, the project is confirmed and will be carried by Mel Gibson.
The actor himself made the announcement on Saturday, November 13 at a conference in London.
The legendary duo of police officers from the Los Angeles Criminal Squad will therefore be reunited once again on screen.
Mel Gibson does not swap his acting cap, he will reprise his famous role of young rabid cop, Martin Riggs, and will be accompanied by Danny Glover should play Roger Murtaugh again.

So far neither the release date, nor the composition of the cast, nor the synopsis have been revealed.
