The golden moment of the blue Taekwondo continues, which won two gold medals at the junior European Championships ending today in Sarajevo.
Antonio Gerrone in heavyweights and Dennis Baretta in the category -63 kg are the new European Champions 2021.
After the success of the last Italian Championships were staged in October, Baretta and Gerrone confirm the result on an international scale contributing decisively to give Italy the first two golds of this competition.
For the gold Gerrone ruled the Ukrainian athlete Ilya Lipatov (18-10).
In the round of 16 he won without difficulty against the home athlete Emir Radeljas (20-10).
In the quarterfinals the blue beat the Belarusian Daniil Yorkou by 14-13.
In the semifinal the blue easily beat the Croatian Daniel Barun with a score of 26-7.
In the final Baretta clearly imposed himself (27-7) on the Serbian Marko Burusic, seeded number 4. His was a perfect European, starting from the second round where he won by point gap 21-1 against the Turkish Kadir Santas.
In the quarterfinals the blue found Rafael Pappa, seeded number 2. Concentration, competitive spirit and a series of precise kicks allowed him to win 21-13.
