According to the former main actor Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter films can have a therapeutic effect after an intoxication with alcohol.
The 32-year-old said the BBC in a documentary on the 20th anniversary of the release of the first film in the series, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone."
Several friends told him that the films "are fantastic when you have a hangover and are really dissatisfied with yourself," said the British actor.
This is reported by the dpa news agency, citing the PA news agency.
Radcliffe added, "You just look the films up and down and it transports them to a place of warmth and comfort."
Daniel Radcliffe had alcohol problems even as a young man.
In 2014, he said in an interview with the British broadcaster Sky Arts that he had resorted to alcohol as a 20-year-old in order to cope with the pressure to succeed as an actor.
According to his own statements, the actor has been abstinent since 2010.
The first Harry Potter film celebrated its world premiere in London in November 2001.
Seven other films, all starring Radcliffe, followed.
The successful series was later supplemented by "Fantastic Beasts" - the book and film also take place in the Potter cosmos.
