, Mauricette Morel, 77, built hers. His apartment behind the Jardin des Plantes in Paris is overflowing with memories. The singer's costume with his polka dot tie hangs in the hallway. A panel of his life-size silhouette is hidden behind the curtains. Out of yellowed cardboard boxes, she takes out dozens of photos.
“Gilbert was almost my brother-in-law,
” she says.
We later became friends. I was close to Louis Amade, his mentor and one of his favorite authors with Maurice Vidalin and Pierre Delanoë. Unfortunately, since Bécaud's death on December 18, 2001 at the age of 74, not much has happened to bring her memory to life, ”she
