The drugstore giant dm wants to provide a completely new look.
Several changes are planned for this, which will first be examined in test stores.
Karlsruhe / Munich - In contrast to many other retailers, the drugstore giant dm managed to achieve growth of 6.5 percent in the 2020/21 financial year and total net sales of 12.27 billion euros.
This success is now to be crowned with a completely new branch appearance.
The drug store wants to make some changes that will drive success and set the market apart from the competition.
New sales concept at dm - conceptual further development of the store appearance
With the changes, the drugstore is aiming for a new sales concept, which is apparently intended to bring more growth and frequency over the long term.
The supplier has already outlined which changes are planned, as the
food newspaper
reported.
It is about an "optical and conceptual further development of the store appearance", which should ensure a more comfortable atmosphere.
So you will mainly concentrate on the areas of beauty, fragrance and photo.
Dm has had positive experiences with previous changes in these areas.
The renovation of the beauty counter carried out in 2013 enables the druggist to become the market leader in decorative cosmetics.
Following this example, a major upheaval is now to take place.
“Dm modernizes a number of stores every year.
But the time is ripe for a further conceptual development ”, one supplier told the
food newspaper
.
The planned modular modernization could already start in the course of next year - but initially only in test markets in Germany, where the changes are to be tried out.
Drugstore dm wants to expand express deliveries
The changes in the branches are not the only plans of dm to further increase sales and leave the competition behind.
Customers should also be offered alternative delivery options.
The planned overhauls of the drugstore also include the expansion of express delivery for online orders.
It is quite popular with customers, as the numbers show.
According to this, almost every fifth online order was made with express pick-up.
The service is now to be expanded to Berlin and Munich.
