linked to smart working in a pandemic seems to imply some advantages and many risks: the home remains an area closed to labor inspectorates, the workstations largely escape the rules that aim to guarantee the safety and health of the workplace, the freedom to organize their times easily translates into work without hours, isolation can make those who are employees weaker in bargaining with the employer side; many costs - electricity, telephone, heating, cleaning, wear and tear of equipment and the domestic environment - fall on workers. It is one of the points on which the Italian Society of Historians dwells in a conference, entitled 'Casa dolce casa?' at the International Women's House in Rome.
There are many food for thought for a reasoning that wants to review all the areas touched by this theme: not only the historical perspective but also the impact on the economy and on all areas of family life.

The modalities of mixed work, in presence at a distance, are likely to be a long-term legacy of the pandemic.
If on the one hand they appear to be squaring the circle, on the other hand they can lead, at least in certain cases, to an increase in organizational difficulty.
