In the case of the German scientist Bernard von Bredow, who was killed in Paraguay, the investigators apparently have a new lead.

As the public prosecutor announced on Twitter on Wednesday, two raids had been carried out.

Personal documents and forged signatures from Bredows as well as cash in euros were found.

The forces arrested a lawyer.

The Paraguayan newspapers "ABC Color" and "Ultima Hora" report that the 46-year-old lawyer is being charged on suspicion of being involved in the murder of 62-year-old von Bredow and his 14-year-old daughter Loreena.

The raids are said to have taken place in the home of the accused and in his mother's apartment.

According to the "ABC Color" and "Bild" newspapers, the documents seized also included a will stating that the lawyer was the sole heir of the Von Bredow estate.

According to the reports, it is unclear whether the will is authentic.

Prosecutor Sandra Ledesma told ABC Color that some of the documents found had to be translated because they were written in German.

According to the information, the suspected lawyer has not yet commented on the allegations.

It is unclear what the arrest means for the three Germans who were arrested a few days ago in Paraguay under suspicion.

The head of the homicide department of the National Police had told the radio station Monumental that the trio was suspected of having been involved in the crime.

One possible motive is the robbery of valuable old instruments that the victim owned.

Violins are also said to have been found in the raids that have now been carried out.

The bodies of Bernard von Bredow and his daughter were discovered in the family home near Areguá, around 30 kilometers southeast of the state capital Asunción.

According to the Federal Foreign Office, the incident occurred on October 22nd.

Both victims died from gunfire, presumably from the same weapon, said forensic doctor Héctor Meza.

The father was killed with a shot in the neck - there are indications that he had previously been tortured.

His daughter was found in a bathtub filled with water, the investigators said.

However, there are indications that the young person could have been shot at another location.

Von Bredow found a mammoth skeleton and the remains of an Iron Age cave lion in his home in Bavaria in 1975.

He exhibited these and other finds in a private museum.

Most recently he worked as a violin maker and restorer in Paraguay.

He was considered an expert on violins by the famous Italian violin maker Antonio Stradivari.
