The number of people infected with Covid is only increasing in France. Consequence: in hospitals, the number of patients taken into

While all of Europe is now facing an epidemic recovery, strong in certain territories, France is no exception.

If some states are already taking strong measures such as confinement in the Netherlands and even the future compulsory vaccination in Austria, no measure is looming, for the moment, in France.

The government is banking on vaccination, the recall campaign for the most vulnerable and the health pass.

Nevertheless, this Saturday, the data of the epidemic in France continued their rise that began several weeks ago.

According to figures from Public Health France (SPF), there are 7,974 people hospitalized against 7,940 the day before and 7,050 last Saturday.

The admissions of patients with coronavirus in hospitals are also increasing: there are 269 admissions in 24 hours, against 563 this Friday and especially 234 seven days ago.

The same trend, lighter, for the critical care services that receive the most serious cases.

In total, 1,333 people are now receiving critical care, against 1,353 the day before, and 1,202 on November 13.

There have been 40 new arrivals of these most serious cases in the past 24 hours, up from 64 a week ago.

The number of cases up 81% in one week

Unfortunately, after recording 57 deaths Thursday and Friday, hospitals have recorded 24 new deaths, while they announced only 20 seven days ago.

The incidence rate has climbed to more than 160 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, up more than 40% per week for several days.

Nearly 5% of the tests carried out are positive, a figure that is rising sharply.

This Saturday, 22,678 positive cases were identified in 24 hours, against 14,646 last Saturday.

On average, 17,153 cases are reported every day this week, up 81% in seven days.

In other words, this number has almost doubled in one week.

On the vaccination side, while 58 million French people are eligible for vaccination, nearly 90% of them have received at least one dose of vaccine.

At least 1.1 million are waiting for their second dose when 5.2 million have already had their third booster dose.

In the coming weeks, the government should follow the recommendation of the High Authority for Health (HAS) and encourage people over 40 to receive a third dose.
