Husby was the singer of the Norwegian band Turbonegro for over 17 years.

The band has existed since 1989. In 1998 the group broke up.

At the time, the band members gave Husby's heroin addiction as the reason.

In 2002 - after a successful withdrawal - the musicians got together again, and in 2010 Husby left the band for good.

Husby was considered a versatile artist: Among other things, he had taken on the lead role in a production of the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" in the New Theater in Oslo.

"We are grateful for the magic"

The band expressed their mourning for the former front man in a message: "We are grateful for the times, the moments and the magic that we were able to share with Hans-Erik for Turbonegro between 1993 and 2009".

Husby was central to the group, a warm and generous person.

"We are proud of what we have created together as rock brothers in Turbonegro - the music, the characters, our whole universe."

The music style of the band Turbonegro is often described as a mixture of heavy metal, rock and punk.

The band itself speaks of »Death Punk«.

Tony Sylvester has been the singer since 2011.

The group is also known for its fans: the »Turbojugend« often appear conspicuously dressed and with make-up.
