Hot orchid (Photo: Alon Mesika)
Fancy a sweet treat in front of the TV in the evening?
The orchid drink is born just for cool days and there is no greater fun than sitting and curling up on a cool day with a hot cup of steaming orchid drink between your two hands.
Its preparation takes exactly 10 minutes and the happiness it brings with it is worth every minute.
The origin of the name orchid, comes from the name of the orchid plant whose tubers used to make the thickening powder of the drink.
Today there is a simple and cheap substitute and it is the cornflour - the corn starch.
This time I replaced the base for the milk drink with coconut milk.
The sweet taste of the coconut blends perfectly with the rose water and to my taste is even tastier than the regular milk.
The result - a vegan drink that is also suitable for kosher observers looking for a fur recipe.
