(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 21 - SANTIAGO DEL CHILE, NOV 21 - With some organizational difficulties, the seats for a vote opened today at 8 (12 Italian), concerning the election of the President of the Republic and the members of Parliament, which will change with most likely the face of the country. About 15 million people are called to the polls to confirm, or correct, the outcome of previous rounds that have indicated a marked shift to the left of the Chilean electorate, but also a process of polarization at the ends of the political arc.

According to the polls, in fact, the next guest of the Palazzodella Moneda will almost certainly emerge from a ballot on the next 19 December between José Antonio Kast (Frente socialcristiano, far right) and Gabriel (Apruebo Dignidad, left). The outgoing president, Sebastián Piñera, was among the first to vote and in a message via Twitter claimed to have "the conviction that we all want the best for our country. Today - he added - every vote and every voice are fundamental". "I encourage you - he finally said - to vote with conviction, aware that we are living in difficult times, but that we will overcome them together and move forward". On the eve of the vote, 20% of those entitled had not yet made a choice, increasing the uncertainty about the results, which may vary depending on the turnout, which is expected to be low.and also of the categories, by age and social class, of the citizens who will go to the polls.
