(ANSA) - KABUL, NOV 22 - The Taliban have published a new "religious guideline" for the media that invites the television channels of Afghanistan to stop sending wave shows and soap operas with actresses and journalists to wear Islamic hijab while presenting their services.
New directives to the media have been issued by the ministry for the promotion of virtue and the prevention of vice.
In addition, TVs are required not to broadcast films or programs in which the Prophet Mohammed or other revered figures are shown.
"These are not rules, but a religious guideline," said ministry spokesman Hakif Mohajir.
