(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, NOV 22 - The Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, calls on the European Commission to suspend all infringement procedures concerning migration and border dossiers. In a letter to President Ursulavon der Leyen, the Hungarian premier urges the freezing of procedures that "would prejudice the actions of member states aimed at protecting their territorial and national integrity, as well as the safety of their citizens".
"In the light of the urgency and serious crisis" on the borders with Belarus, Orban invited Brussels to "propose adapting the regulatory framework to the new realities" and "stop applying the obsolete and obstructive rules in force",referring to what was established in the conclusions of the leaders' summit in October.
