No more corner kicks in Ligue 1. It is not a new rule, but advice that would be given to the players, who have become authentic targets of senseless violence from fans Sunday after Sunday. The image of Neymar protected by the shields of the agents at the Velodrome from the launch of lighters and coins is the symbol of a disturbing reality and of the multiplication of episodes. The last was last night in Lyon, when Marseille winger Dimitri Payet was hit in the head by a bottle. The issue is so serious that it requires drastic interventions, while France shouts "shame!" -Michel Blanquer, and colleague responsible for sport, Roxana Maracineanu, will meet tomorrow with the professional football league (LFP), referees and clubs to determine the means of ending the violence.

In the meantime, the disciplinary commission of the Lega, which met urgently, sanctioned Lyon with a match behind closed doors for the episode which also led to the interruption of the match against Marseille just four minutes from the starting whistle. But everything suggests that the final sanction, which will be decided on 8 December, will be heavier and could also include a loss of points for the club. Payet wasn't in training today.

"Very shocked", the no.10 of Marseille announced that he will file a complaint against the attacker, who was stopped by the agents. For its part, Lyon are calling for "exemplary criminal and administrative sanctions" and intend to be able to "disqualify" the fan for life if the sporting laws and regulations give the club the "means to do so". The president of the club, Jean-Michel Aulas, however, lashes out against the hypothesis of penalizing a point as already happened at Nice after the match at the beginning of August with Marseille, marked by violence. Also in that case Payet was targeted by the bottles but for Aulas, what happened yesterday is not comparable. Waiting for the pronouncement of 8 December, Minister Maracineanu underlines the "intolerable" nature of what happened and asks the clubs to intervene "immediate and radical "for safety on the pitch and in the stands." These are acts that put sport to shame ", deplores the vice-president of the République En Marche at the National Assembly, Aurore Bergé, calling for measures of" extreme firmness ".
