Christian Estrosi asks the government "to open the vaccine booster to all" to fight against the fifth wave.

While the government has not yet spoken on the subject, the mayor of Nice is taking the lead.

Christian Estrosi announced on Monday the opening of vaccination slots for a booster dose to the general population.

"The inhabitants of Nice and Metropolitan having completed their vaccination cycle for 6 months, can, if they wish, carry out their 3rd dose in the vaccination centers of the Metropolis, and this, without age limit, from December 1st, from 5 pm to 6 pm, within the limit of the remaining doses available, ”announces the town hall of Nice in a press release.

Three vaccination centers in the city will make these slots available.

At the same time, Christian Estrosi also asks the government "to open the vaccine booster to all", "to lessen the effect of this fifth wave".

The third dose for all pending in France

In an opinion made public Monday, the Scientific Council decided to open the booster dose to the general population, while insisting on the priority to be given to populations aged 40 and over.

This is not the first time that a mayor has taken individual initiatives on vaccination against Covid-1.

In April, several elected officials from Corsica had opened vaccination to all young people in advance, while the rest of the country prioritized people considered fragile.

During the same period, Christian Estrosi had campaigned for the vaccination of all working people regardless of age.
