Antitrust: 200 million fine to Amazon and Apple

The Competition and Market Authority sanctioned Amazon and Apple for a total of 200 million euros at the end of the investigation on the restrictions on access to the Amazon marketplace. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 23 - The Market Competition Authority has sanctioned Amazon and Apple for a total of 200 million euros at the end of the investigation on the restrictions on access to the Amazon marketplace by legitimate resellers of products Apple brand and "genuine" Beats.

The penalties amounted to 68.7 million euros to the Amazon group company and 134.5 million euros to the Apple group companies.

The authority has ordered these companies to end the restrictions by allowing Amazon.co.uk to sellers of "genuine" Apple and Beats products in a non-discriminatory manner.
