In Cologne and the Rhein-Erft district there is an operation against members of the Hells Angels.
Special police units have been searching 16 objects belonging to the rocker group since early this morning, the public prosecutor and the Cologne police said.
The background is a preliminary investigation into attempted murder.
In October, a former Hells Angels member was shot at in Cologne's old town.
In the attack on the 31-year-old, one of the accused fired at least three shots.
One of the floors hit a bystander's apartment through the shutters.
It was due to chance that no one was injured.
Explosives detection dogs in action
The emergency services should now secure evidence.
In addition, the measures served "the targeted search for the possible murder weapon."
The investigations are currently directed against 15 men between the ages of 23 and 51, all of whom are members of the local group "Hells Angels MC Honorfield," according to the investigators.
First the "Bild" newspaper reported on the searches.
In addition to numerous special units, riot police and explosives detection dogs are in action.
