(ANSA) - NEW YORK, NOVEMBER 22 - After two years of legal battle fought behind the scenes, arbitration has decided that KevinSpacey must pay 31 million dollars to the producers of 'Houseof cards' for violating the rules of conduct on sexual harassment.
The verdict of the arbitration was filed by Mrc, the production company, in the Superior Court of Los Angeles.
Spacey, who played president Frank Underwood, was ousted from the popular Netflix series after allegations of predatory behavior against young men. Leaccuse provoked an internal investigation that led to the actor's exclusion from his role and from the team of producers.
The arbitration also states that Mrc suffered damage due to Spacey's conduct, including the need to stop the sixth season of 'House of cards', rewrite the script and shorten it from 13 to eight episodes to meet the scheduling deadlines.
