Police and firefighters were the targets of gunfire and throwing projectiles overnight Monday to Tuesday, police said.
They were present in the district of Sainte-Thérèse in Fort-de-France, for an intervention on trash fires.
“Other trash and vehicle fires were lit around 1:45 am, it was at this time that the patrols came under 9mm shots on several occasions.
Impacts were noted on the vehicles, ”said Commander Joël Larcher, communication manager of the departmental public security directorate of Fort-de-France.

These clashes took place on the sidelines of a peaceful protest movement.
A general strike began on the island on November 22, at the call of 17 trade unions.
A demonstration in Fort-de-France on Monday brought together up to 1,300 people in front of the prefecture, according to the police.
Among the demands of the strikers are the end of the vaccination obligation, suspensions for caregivers, but also the increase in wages and social minima and the fall in fuel and gas prices.
