Bus and train travel is becoming more complex.

Only those who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested are allowed to ride.

Checking the evidence in particular will probably not be easy.

Berlin - When checks are carried out on public transport, these are usually used to check tickets.

During the week, passengers on buses and trains will also be asked for their 3G proof to protect them from the coronavirus.

Without a corresponding receipt, you will be refused transport in the future.

The new regulation, which will come into effect in the coming days, raises many questions.

Corona: 3G regulation in buses and trains will probably start on Wednesday - big hurdles for unvaccinated people

It has not yet been determined when the rule will come into force.

The federal government is currently assuming Wednesday, depending on the steps following the signing of the amended Infection Protection Act by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

As the presidential office says, entry into force is not planned before the middle of the week.

Unvaccinated people find it difficult to go to work, to university or to go shopping, especially if you need public transport to get to a test station.

A negative test must not be more than 24 hours old when you start driving.

Employers must provide two tests per week for this, and a free “citizen test” per week can still be used.

It is still open who bears the costs for the remaining days of the week.

Corona: Public transport is switching to 3G - exceptions for children and young people

Exceptions apply to children and young people who go to school and to children under six years of age. In the case of schoolchildren, it is assumed that they will undergo regular tests in the teaching institutions. People under six still do not need any test, vaccination or recovery certificates in local transport.

Evidence - similar to tickets - should be presented on request.

The controls in particular will be a challenge, according to the law, companies are responsible for this.

They are now warning that their employees are not 3G police.

"The transport companies are therefore already approaching the local police and public order offices so that effective spot checks can be carried out together," said the Association of German Transport Companies.

This should "increase the necessary security for our inspectors in the implementation of this difficult sovereign task".

In Hesse, the Hessian transport associations, together with the police and regulatory authorities, agreed about random checks.

Corona: 3G regulation also at Deutsche Bahn - taxi industry eased

It is not yet clear how the regulations will be implemented at Deutsche Bahn from the middle of the week.

The group announced at the beginning of the week how the implementation should take place.

Deutsche Bahn was already open to 3G at the time of the resolutions, but extensive controls are not to be expected.

The taxi industry is not affected by the access restriction for passengers, so the drivers do not have to check any certificates or corona tests.

However, 3G continues to apply to drivers, affirmed Thomas Oppermann, President of the Federal Association of Taxi and Rental Cars.

As before, you must wear a mask in the taxi.
