There is controversy between Labor MP Stella Creasy, who has sat in her seat in the House of Commons several times with her young children to demonstrate in defense of the rights of working mothers, and the Westminster Parliament authorities who have asked her, in according to the rules in force, not to do it again.
Creasy, whose last born is three months old and must be breastfed, condemned the decision stating that "mothers in the mother of all parliaments should not be seen or heard, apparently". The Walthamstow MP received an email reminding her not to take a seat in the courtroom "if accompanied by a child". She had recently intervened at the Municipalities with her baby in her arms, reminding her colleagues how difficult it is for a mother to attend sessions and had initiated a question and answer with the conservative Jacob Rees-Mogg, Leader of the House in the lower house of Westminster, as well as' father of six children.
The MEP claims the rights and protections guaranteed in the UK for all employees, particularly with regard to the return to work of new mothers.
