(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 24 - Arman Abdolali, the 25-year-old arrested when he was 17 for the murder of his girlfriend, was hanged this morning in Iran, despite appeals from activist NGOs against the execution of the sentence.
AlArabiya reports it citing the semi-official agency Tasnim.
Abdolali had been in prison since 2016 after confessing to the murder of Ghazaleh Shakour.
Amnesty International had claimed that her confession had been obtained "under torture".
A month ago the international organization stressed in a note that his trial "had been marked by serious violations".
