Apart from the science and high-tech scene, the streets also have something to offer in the culinary field.

The city has dozens of eateries, mythical restaurants and cafes, but also renewal and refreshment in the culinary sector.

Chefs and entrepreneurs choose to open new restaurants on the streets and that is already gratifying.

It can certainly be stated that the city of Rehovot is hotter than ever, in a good section of course.

So what do you eat on the streets?

Good thing you asked because it has a mix of new places alongside old and valued ones.

Here are some serving suggestions:

Metro Pizza + Bali Burgers

The new dining complex of chefs Eviatar Malka and Jonathan Sharvit, the pair of chefs that has been known in almost every home since the last season of "Chef Games".

The two stood out at the beginning of the season and even reached the final.

Although Malka was the official winner of the season, the brave friendship of the two (who even run catering together) led them both to share the glory and take advantage of the momentum and open a new double dining complex in the Science Campus on the streets.

The complex includes Metro Pizza and Bali Burger.

Metro Pizza specializes in rectangular pizzas measuring 60 by 20 cm from a dough made from several types of flours that the two prepare after several attempts to reach the perfect pizza. And more innovations.

Nearby Bali Burgers provides a solution for those who want to stick their teeth into a juicy hamburger, along with sandwiches, chicken dishes, salads and more.

All burgers are made from old-fashioned Israeli beef that is ground on the spot and the rolls are baked on the spot.

Here, too, the trend of brioche or spelled rolls with domes in colors and flavors is gaining ground - black garlic, hot chili, black pepper smoothie or corn polenta.

The menu includes a classic American burger, a double cheese burger, an entrecote burger, and a Beyond meat burger.

In addition, they make pastrami, corned beef, sloppy and chicken dishes such as nuggets, crispy wings and other delicious dishes.

In the near future, a special menu will be launched on Tuesday that will consist mainly of changing entrees of the chefs and also of guest chefs who will occasionally host a joint creation.

Sphera Kitchen & bar

A new restaurant is currently opening in the Science Campus in Rehovot - a gourmet kosher kitchen led by Chef Bnei Madar.

The menu consists of dishes based on the purity of local produce: meats, fresh fish and Tnuva of Israeli agriculture.

Of these, Madar installs seasonal Mediterranean fusion dishes.

Madar creates visually impressive dishes using advanced cooking techniques.

In her book, the emphasis is on the use of unique raw materials: they use the meat of the Legziel farm, fresh fish in season, seasonal vegetables and herbs from the restaurant's spice garden.

Among the dishes of the new restaurant can be found yellow cherry gazpacho fish tartare, fried beet chunks;

Beef tartare on white eggplant cream, black eggplant cream and lentil cracker;

Cigar face parts in a spicy Moroccan sauce, crib aioli and cilantro;

Fillet is removed on lima bean cream;

Legziel lamb chops, black lentil ragout and quinoa and more.

Cesar Bistro

Alongside the new places like the ones mentioned above, there are some old culinary institutions in the city of science.

Bistro Cesar is one of them.

The restaurant was established in 2006 with an emphasis on hospitality and good food based on Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, mainly with meat and fish (also nice).

There is also an interesting family story behind the restaurant, Cesar Cohen, after whom the restaurant is named, was the grandfather of one of the owners, Nisso Cohen.

Among the dishes star classics like truffle gnocchi, a classic Viennese schnitzel made from veal sirloin, a French-style hamburger with roasted gouda and Jordan bean mushroom, artichoke a la romana spaghetti, oxtail pepperella, Caesar salad and other distinct bistro dishes.

In the evening, the restaurant is lively and is also a place of entertainment and not just a proper restaurant, with an emphasis on colorful cocktails and a relaxed atmosphere.

Mo and Mo Restaurant (Photo: Elad Baranga)

Mo and Mo the meat

A rule of thumb in the culinary world is to look for the roots, the closeness between the plate and the raw material.

In the case of Mo and Mo the distance is very short.

Moo Moo is a very old butcher shop and restaurant that operates on the streets and attracts loyal diners from all over the country.

As in many cases of butchers and butchers, this is also a family business: Mo and Mo started out as a family butcher in 1984, later, in 1994, the restaurant was added, so that there will be where to serve the quality meats in their made form and not just as raw material.

There are large refrigerators for aging and plenty of preparation and serving options.

On the menu you will find chunks such as sirloin, entrecote, porter, veal fillet, white neck steak and more according to the division of the coop, the herd and the barn.

Hamburg

The Hamburg chain is an American-style grill chain, and unlike the opposite moves where you start in Tel Aviv and go out to other districts, this is a restaurant that started in the streets and from there the news spread to Tel Aviv.

This is a light diner-style restaurant on the purity of the patty that drives the world crazy.

In Hamburg it can be found in a variety of mounting shapes and additions.

For example Hamburg (340-160 g) beef, veal and ground lamb;

Triple Hamburg - three burgers made from beef, lamb and entrecote in mini rolls;

A vegan burger with portabello mushrooms and soy;

Entrecote burger 250 grams and more.

This along with toppings (like smoked goose breast, St. Mohr cheese, pineapple in chili, cheddar, guacamole, portabello mushrooms) and on the side and dishes that soil the fingers like fried squid, nuggets, wings, cigars and the like.

There are also sandwiches, salads and a host of spoiled desserts.

Bruno Chocolate

Something sweet to finish: Julia Perger has been running Bruno Chocolate on the plazas with her husband for several years.

"I really like chocolate, I always did. So much so, that I took it a step further, and since then we are inseparable," Perger testifies to her pulp.

The chocolate shop - a shop that produces chocolate on the spot - she decided to set up near the house, on the streets.

The place combines a cafe with a rich coffee and tea menu alongside savory croissants (sabih, salmon, margarita and more) or sweets (chocolate, kinder bueno, caramelized apples, almonds), quiches and cakes.

Perger produces pralines with a variety of more and less routine fillings such as chili orange, whiskey, nut cream and roasted corn, lemon and mint, cider and cognac, roasted chickpeas and curry, toffee and salted caramel, peach and olive oil and more as the best imagination alongside chocolate, marshmallow and more.

kosher.
