From December 1, the public operator will intensify its efforts to verify that job seekers, in particular from sectors in tension, are indeed in a situation of active search. Two weeks after the government's announcement to want to strengthen the control of the unemployed, Pôle emploi is now in the process of battle to achieve this. From December 1, the public operator will intensify its efforts to verify that job seekers, in particular from sectors in tension, are indeed in a situation of active search. If necessary, they risk the suspension of the benefits received. As desired by the executive, Pôle emploi will have to carry out 250,000 checks in six months from this date, i.e. an increase of 25% in the number of checks compared to the 400,000 carried out in 2019. But it will have to do with the staff in place, or the 600 agents dedicated to this task. The government considers that it has already provided enough reinforcements to the operator since the start of the crisis.A situation which pushes the general direction to proceed to a simplification of the current method of control, long and cumbersome administratively.
