Poland, European Convention on Human Rights incompatible

The Polish Constitutional Court has ruled that part of the European Convention on Human Rights is incompatible with the national constitution, ruling on a sentence handed down by the European Court of Human Rights. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - WARSAW, NOV 24 - The Polish Constitutional Court has ruled that part of the European Convention on Human Rights is incompatible with the national constitution, ruling on a sentence issued by the European Court of Human Rights.


    "The Constitutional Court rejects the ECHR's ruling that violates our system," Deputy Justice Minister Sebastian Kaleta said on Twitter, referring to a ruling issued by the ECHR earlier this year on controversial Polish judicial reforms.
