This test drive ended differently than planned: A 31-year-old driver had an accident with a Ferrari prototype. So-called Erlkönige should actually attract as little attention as possible.

So-called Erlkönige are prototypes of new car models.

If they are tested in normal traffic, they should remain as inconspicuous as possible.

In the vicinity of Sinsheim in Baden-Württemberg, however, such a test drive went quite wrong.

As reported by “Bild” and “Heidelberg24”, a test driver had an accident on Wednesday night with a Ferrari Erlkönig on a district road between Hoffenheim and Balzfeld in the Rhein-Neckar district.

Driver was uninjured

A police spokesman confirmed to SPIEGEL that a 31-year-old driver had an accident with a sports car around midnight.

The man was unharmed.

For a previously unexplained cause, the car hit the guardrails several times and then came to a stop on the street.

The car was destroyed in the accident and had to be towed.

The police could not quantify how great the damage is.
