Kristina Hänel will answer the phone in a moment, but it doesn't fit so well at the moment.

You could call again in 30 minutes, saying she was drinking champagne. The well-known doctor from Gießen has reason to celebrate: In their coalition agreement, the traffic light parties have stipulated that Section 219a of the Criminal Code will be deleted - the paragraph that doctors are required to provide information prohibits safe abortions.

Hänel himself was charged and convicted of the "advertising ban".

Your case has made the subject known nationwide.

"I think it's great that the paragraph is being deleted," she says.

"But the question of the violation of fundamental rights is not dealt with conclusively."

Hänel has filed a constitutional complaint against her conviction.

How it will continue is unclear.

The doctor still wants the Federal Constitutional Court to take a position on whether 219a is compatible with the constitution.

"That shows how deep the injury was caused by 219a"

The coalition agreement states that women's self-determination will be strengthened by the deletion.

The possibility of having an abortion free of charge is part of "reliable health care".

Other planned measures: The termination of pregnancy is to become part of the training and further education of female doctors.

In addition, the coalitionists want to counteract »pavement nuisance« by anti-abortion opponents »effective legal measures« and ensure the supply of counseling facilities - also online.

If Paragraph 219a is actually deleted, Kristina Hänel wants to publish the relevant information on her website again.

"I hope that the women will then bring their sanitary towels and towels back with them," she says. Such points have also shown that women lack information.

"People write to me that they have tears in their eyes," says Hänel.

She has since received countless messages.

"That shows how deep the injury from 219a was."
