From the moment you find out you're pregnant again the worries and worries begin: How will I be able to share my love and attention with another baby?
How will my toddler respond to the new addition to the family?
The issue of breastfeeding also arises, especially if you have experienced breastfeeding challenges the previous time and now, in preparation for another birth, you are inundated with the fear that you will have even less time to devote to establishing breastfeeding and its success.
Anat Yaari
, a breastfeeding consultant at IBCLC, the owner of the "Mother and Way" school for training breastfeeding instructors, wants to reassure with the good news: Even if you experience difficulties in establishing milk at the first birth, there is a reasonable chance that you will start from a better starting point.
This is because from pregnancy to pregnancy there is greater growth and proliferation of milk-producing cells and more massive branching of the milk ducts.
It has to do with hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy as well as the fact that the body has a "memory" and it already knows how to produce milk.

Postpartum Depression - Do not deal with it alone

Alongside this, it is recommended to prepare for the second breastfeeding both by reading up-to-date information and in personal preparation for breastfeeding, in which you will talk to the breastfeeding consultant about the challenges you experienced the previous time and how to prepare in advance for the current time.
If you feel that you need help while breastfeeding, find the time to do it with a professional (the optimal time - when the eldest is in kindergarten) or use the immediate environment to care for him at the same time if he is at home.
Be prepared for challenges.

It is important to remember that your experience in your relationship with a new baby in the family will make the challenges a little simpler: the daily care of the newborn is not new to you, you are less stressed by crying or restlessness, tickling diaper and shower changes and realizing that everything is fleeting and temporary.
Once the little one's breastfeeding is established, you will have time to devote to the toddler, for example reading books, playing together or any other idea for quality time with the little puppy in your arms. Try to create a breastfeeding corner that will have everything that is essential for you and the new baby (a breastfeeding pillow and a bottle of water for example) but also books, coloring books or games that will suit the time shared with the big one.
Remember that a new baby, a new sibling to your eldest, is a gift.
She will teach him to deal with jealousy, anger and frustration, how to share attention with a tiny baby that requires intensive care in the beginning, how to combine new skills related to giving up, patience, independence and what is and essence of a relationship.
And of course, the difficulties you will encounter are a natural part of the road to successful and enjoyable breastfeeding for you and my baby.
The Jama app was established with the aim of addressing mothers of babies from birth to age three, and centralizing for them content, activities, tips from experts and videos that will accompany them throughout this challenging period.
All the content in the app "grows" together with the baby and is precisely adapted to its developmental stages, so that the mothers receive only what is relevant to them and interests them at any given moment.
The Jama app is the place for mothers in Israel to meet and get to know other mothers around them, and create new and exciting friendships in the fascinating journey.
