Crashed car in Treptow-Köpenick: Two people died at the scene of the accident

After a speeding accident in which three people died, the Berlin public prosecutor's office brought charges against the 21-year-old driver.
According to a statement, the man is accused of a forbidden motor vehicle race resulting in death and of endangering road traffic.
The public prosecutor's office accuses Omran H. of accelerating a 450 hp sports car he borrowed, in which there were three passengers, to at least 150 kilometers per hour in difficult road and visibility conditions on February 2nd late in the evening.
While driving through a 30 zone in the Treptow-Köpenick district, he tried to reach top speed.
Then he should have lost control of the vehicle.
According to the information, the car touched the curb, came off the lane and hit a tree head-on.
The force of the impact tore the car apart and parts of the vehicle collided with another tree, a switch box and a waste container on the side of the road.
Two people died at the scene of the accident
According to the indictment, a passenger was thrown out of the car and died at the scene of the accident with multiple broken bones and organ injuries.
Another companion also died at the scene of the accident from his injuries.
The third passenger sustained severe burn injuries, of which he died a few days later in the hospital.
The suspected driver was only slightly injured in the accident, it is said.
The defendant was reportedly in custody in the meantime.
In March, however, he was spared from further execution of pre-trial detention, subject to conditions.
