The daily report of Public Health France confirms the "fulgurance" of this fifth wave, while the government announced this Thursday

"After a few months, you have to renew the booster to reactivate the immune memory", explained Olivier Véran this Thursday at noon at a press conference during which he formalized the opening of a third dose to all French adults after five months, and no longer six, "from this Saturday".

The day after a Strategic Defense Council, the Minister of Health announced new measures to try to curb a virulent fifth epidemic wave, articulated around three major axes: the generalization of the booster dose to all French people, the return of the obligation to wear a mask and reinforcement of the health pass.

Hospital data confirms the urgency to act.

"The national incidence rate should exceed 200 by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow," Gabriel Attal predicted Wednesday: this Thursday, it amounts to 212.9.

At the hospital, 8,981 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated, according to the latest figures from Public Health France.

They were 8,765 Wednesday and 7,787 last Thursday in hospitals which recorded 778 new admissions throughout France in the last 24 hours against 770

yesterday and 522 seven days ago.

In addition, 1,499 people developing a severe form of the virus are currently in critical care compared to 1,483 yesterday, and 1,333 a week earlier.

A total of 73 deaths linked to Covid-19 have also been recorded in the last 24 hours (80

yesterday).
