(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 25 - "I am very confident, but there will be a lot to do". This was stated by the president of the promoting committee of Expo 2030, ambassador Giampiero Massolo, during a press point with journalists in Rome. "If I were not confident I would not have thrown myself into the enterprise - he adds -. I believe in this city, which I consider mine even if I was not born here". "We have formidable candidacies alongside ours - he explains -, four others: Busan in South Korea, Odessa in Ukraine, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and Moscow in Russia. Each one has strong points and weak points, everyone will try to make the most of their strengths and none will make discounts ".
For Massolo it is "a unifying project for Rome and for Italy. A challenge that can only be accepted out of spirit of service".
"Such an event produces various positive economic effects: from the sale of tickets to the tax effect, from the influx to hospitality and then also a benefit that we hope for the future. A successful Expo can lead to a valuation of real estate assets, an ability to attract investments" , explains the president of the promoting committee of Expo 2030. Massolo underlines, therefore, "a coincidence that allows synergies: the common thread between Giubileo2025 and Expo 2030. The liveability, mobility, cleanliness of the city are exalted".
