The British cult rocker Ozzy Osbourne has postponed his joint European tour with the heavy metal band Judas Priest for another year.
The concerts on his farewell tour, including five appearances in Germany, are now to be rescheduled for May and June 2023.
The reason given by the former Black Sabbath frontman on his homepage was the corona-related insecurity in viewer capacity and freedom to travel in Europe.
Originally, the European stage of his "No More Tours 2" tour was supposed to take place in early 2019.
Because of pneumonia, Osbourne had initially postponed it to spring 2020, and then two more times because of the corona pandemic.
"I want to thank you all and Judas Priest for your continued patience and support," said the 72-year-old singer.
He wants to finish the tour despite having been diagnosed with Parkinson's in the meantime.
Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John and Kiss
Osbourne is considered a legend of heavy metal and hard rock.
With his band Black Sabbath, which was founded in 1969, he made his breakthrough in 1970 with the album "Paranoid".
In total, the band released 19 albums.
As a solo artist, Osbourne achieved several platinum awards from 1980.
Black Sabbath had given their farewell concert in their hometown of Birmingham, England in February 2017.
A solo farewell is now difficult because of the pandemic.
But Osbourne is not alone with his problem: Elton John, who wants to say goodbye to his fans on the "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour", had to postpone his appearances until 2023 for health reasons.
The cult rockers of the band Kiss have been on a big farewell tour for a long time.
The quartet around Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons is currently planning to continue their tour next summer.
Concerts are planned in Hamburg, Dortmund, Stuttgart and Frankfurt, among others.
