The first national council of food districts is born

(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 25 - The first national council of food districts is born. The organization was presented today in Romapresso in the Cavour room of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies with the patronage of Anci, Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces and Mipaaf. The Consulta has the objective of jointly representing the interests of the Districts, of safeguarding and protecting the environmental, cultural, tourist, landscape and food and wine heritage represented by the system of Agri-food Districts and to make known in Italy and in the world the intangible heritage, the richness of landscapes and the qualities of the territories. Among the objectives is to enhance and accredit the experience of the Districts also in their function of "intermediate body",to strengthen the planning and initiative capacity of the territories and for a better management of the available resources. To date, there are 20 district contracts, which have been assessed as eligible for funding with projects that can be immediately set up. "Activating these 20 development programs - says the spokesperson of the Council Angelo Barone - would be an important signal of immediate departure of the agri-food sector which still today represents one of the main engines of Made in Italy but it is necessary to create a system and have a shared strategy to make the most of both resources of the PNNR and of the CAP ". "We appreciated - he adds - that the Mipaaf has placed 120 million euros in the budget law for the food districts and we hope for a further amendment to integrate the resources necessary to finance all the projects admitted and start the first investment action consistent with the Pnnr ".
