There is currently an exhibition about rabbits in winter time in the Valentin Karlstadt Musäum.

55 artists have thought their way into the world of long ears and shed light on them with humorous insights into the little animals.

Carefully, wearing white gloves, Steffen Haas unpacks a small box.

In the box: Another box, more precisely an egg box.

He unfolds it and five somewhat battered, painted eggshells come to light.

The "egg oracle".

According to Swiss tradition, hard-boiled eggs are "bagged" together at Easter.

Whoever has the toughest egg wins.

The bowls painted with dog heads by the Swiss artist and comic artist Karoline Schreiber are part of the exhibition "Herr Haas shows: Rabbits" in the Valentin Karlstadt Musäum.

Due to the corona, some of the works of art arrived too late, says curator Steffen Haas.

The Post would probably have problems at the moment.

The egg oracle doesn't arrive until 11:01 a.m. on the beat for the opening of the exhibition in the tower parlor.

From November 25th to March 8th, the curtain will be raised for the long-eared leading actors of the next few weeks: rabbits.

Haas was able to win 55 artists for his exhibition.

Some of them already had a few of the animals in store, others were specially made.

What does the Easter Bunny do in private?

What sport does he do?

And in the Karl Valentin and Liesl Karlstadt manner, the humorous event is exactly what you lack in this cold, gray season: Something that puts you in a good mood and sometimes makes the visitor smile, sometimes tears of laughter Eyes drives.

Speaking of the season, some might think, what did the animals actually do in Advent?

That was the basic idea behind the exhibition, explains Haas.

What do the mummel men do when they are not busy with Easter eggs?

Which sports do you prefer?

What are you doing part-time?

After all, working as an Easter bunny once a year should not be enough for a living.

Especially not for Munich bunnies.

Artists have graphically documented the everyday life of the rabbits.

Artists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have investigated all of these questions and illuminate the visitor with humorous and profound insights into long-eared animals.

In the cozy parlor, you can admire drawn and painted, modern and classic rabbits, such as the pug in costume or the “Blue Rammler”, freely interpreted according to Franz Marc.

An impressive chase by an ostrich and master lamp warns the viewer what happens if a long-eared man dares to hit the wrong eggs.

Curator Haas himself has also set to work and reinterpreted the famous rabbit (which is actually a hare) from "Alice in Wonderland".

A visit is worthwhile, if only because of the many insights that you take home with you.

And a good mood.
