The Robert Koch Institute reports new corona record values every day.

Politicians intervene and tighten the measures.

Is a 2G model also coming for the supermarkets?

Neckarsulm - "In the end it boils down to this - it's a kind of lockdown for the unvaccinated, it can't be any other way," said Markus Söder in a press conference on Monday.

He is alluding to the tightened measures in all federal states, but above all in Bavaria.

A nationwide 2G regulation has been in effect here since Tuesday, November 15.

This has even been expanded: Unvaccinated people no longer just have no access to sports, cultural and leisure events.

Gastronomy and hotel businesses will also implement the 2G regulation from now on.

Far-reaching areas of public life are now already subject to the special rule for vaccinated and convalescent people.

But what about supermarkets like Aldi, Edeka, Lidl and Co.?

2G in the supermarket: Lidl rejects the model

At the request of

Merkur.de

, a Lidl spokeswoman said: “A 2G regulation is not planned in our Lidl branches.

Everything should stay as it is at the moment. ”This means maintaining the distance, wearing a mask and taking a basket or shopping cart with you when shopping.

All customers are still welcome at the discounter.

"Everyone should be allowed to shop with us in the future, whether they have been vaccinated or not," said the spokeswoman for the Neckarsulm-based company.

This applies nationwide to all Lidl branches.

Some supermarkets have the 2G option

The federal states of Hesse and Lower Saxony gave retailers the chance to decide for themselves whether they want to implement the 2G model in their branches or not.

A spokesman for the Rewe Group had already commented on this to our editorial team - there will be no 2G regulation for Rewe, Penny and Toom Baumarkt either.

This means that unvaccinated people can continue to meet their daily needs for food in the supermarkets without any problems.
