After DM recall: competitor Rossmann also has to withdraw its own brand

Just like competitor DM, the Rossmann drugstore has to recall a well-known product from its own brand.

There is a risk of infection.

Berlin - The drugstore chain Rossmann informs the customers that the recall concerns the item "Isana Water Spray Aqua 150 Mililiter".

The problem: there is a risk of germ contamination.

For some customers this could be problematic.

Rossmann cannot rule out that the product is microbiologically contaminated.

These are the bacteria Burkholderia cenocepacia and Ralstonia ssp.

The drugstore established the burden in the course of a self-check (more news on recalls and warnings * at RUHR24).

The recall at Rossmann concerns the following products:

• Product: ISANA water spray AQUA

• Size: 150 ml

• EAN: 430 561 561 12 04

• Batch numbers (the first nine digits are decisive): 175240621, 176250621, 188070721, 189080721, 190090721

Rossmann points out to customers that using the contaminated "Isana Aqua water spray" can lead to infections.

Above all, immunocompromised and sensitive people are at risk (more news from the Service * department at RUHR24).

As with Rossmann, there is currently a recall from DM. * The drugstore competitor is recalling the Aqua water spray from its own brand Balea.

Bacteria - Burkholedria and Ralstonia - have also been found in this product.

explains that the Burkholderia and Ralstonia bacteria are rod-shaped bacteria.

As a rule, these are not dangerous for healthy people.

However, it could be dangerous for those with respiratory problems.

Resistance to antibiotics can develop - the bacteria are also known as hospital germs.

Both Rossmann and DM offer their customers to bring the products back to the branches.

The purchase price will be refunded.

Recalls and warnings from discounters, supermarkets and drug stores are not uncommon.

The fact that the number of recalls is increasing is not due to the poor quality of the products offered in supermarkets and discounters; the standards in Germany are still high.

Manufacturers are simply more responsible than they used to be.

Every year over 500,000 establishments of the around 1.2 million companies registered in the food industry are inspected.

If you know or suspect that the product could pose a risk, the responsible authority must be informed immediately.
