The mayor of
Aosta
, Gianni Nuti, signed the ordinance that requires the use of the mask in the historic center on weekends and holidays.
It will be in effect from tomorrow until January 9th.
The decision was made "due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic" taking into account that until the end of the Christmas holidays "in the streets and squares included in the axes of the Decumano and the Cardo Massimo and in the surrounding areas are already taking place and events and demonstrations will take place with the consequent risk of gatherings ".
However, many mayors have already gone in the same direction. In
Milan,
the obligation to wear outdoor masks is
in effect from Saturday
throughout the Christmas period, until December 31st, in the city center. In
Bergamo
, the symbolic city of the first wave, the mayor Giorgio Gori has decided on the obligation to wear a mask in the markets, flea markets and shopping streets. And the mayor of
Florence
, Dario Nardella, is also thinking of a similar order. In
Bologna
the mayor Matteo Lepore has decided on the obligation in the whole city center, in the area inside the walls. "In gatherings the mask is mandatory, we cannot guarantee all people to turn without ending up in a gathering": this is how he explained his choice. In addition, the prefect Francesca Ferrandino announced the closures of the center for demonstrations, to "ensure the free exercise of other rights", in line with the directive of the Interior Ministry of 10 November. To anticipate the squeeze was
South Tyrol
where you go out with masks, and
on public transport the Ffp2 must be worn
.
At the Christmas market, inaugurated yesterday, you can only walk with a colored bracelet, like the one used in discos and campsites, issued to visitors with the Green pass.
