Gabriel Abutbul Alon, the man accused of helping Eitan's grandfather, Shmuel Peleg, to kidnap Eitan after having taken him, during one of the periodic meetings authorized by the court, in the house of his paternal aunt, was arrested in Limysos, on the island of Cyprus, where he appears to reside.

Alon was pursued by a European arrest warrant (Mae) activated by the deputy prosecutor of Pavia Mario Venditti and by the prosecutor Valentina De Stefano for the kidnapping of little Eitan Biran.
