(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 26 - "The 5 Star Movement was the first political force to put the minimum wage issue on the table. Now that Europe too is moving in the exact direction we indicated, and that in Germany the new coalition digoverno decides to bring it from 9.19 to 12 euros, there are no more excuses: we must speed up and approve as soon as possible a measure to raise the salaries of millions of workers.
4.5 million are earning less than 9 euros per hour while 2.5 million do not even reach 8 euros: all this is unacceptable.
There is a bill of the M5S that establishes some principles of common sense, such as enhancing the 'healthy' collective bargaining by putting an end to the phenomenon of so-called 'pirate contracts' and setting a threshold of dignity under which no collective agreement must ever go down.
We, as reiterated today by President Giuseppe Conte, are here.
It is time for the other parties to tell which side they are on.
The Movement has no doubts: it belongs to that of the workers. "This was stated unanimously by the group leader of the M5S in the Chamber, Davide Crippa. (ANSA).
