A police officer from Newark, USA, allegedly fatally injured a pedestrian in an accident and took the body home with them.
This was announced by the responsible prosecutor of Essex County in the state of New Jersey.
The 25-year-old Louis S. was out in his car on November 1 at around 3 a.m. and is said to have rammed a 29-year-old.
At the time of the accident, he was not on duty.
Neither S. nor his co-driver of the same age would have dialed the emergency number or provided first aid.
Instead, he drove away and returned to the scene of the accident several times.
Then he loaded the victim into his vehicle and drove to the house where he lives with his parents.

Mother discussed what should be done with the corpse.
Then he loaded it back into his vehicle and returned to the scene of the accident.
Finally, the suspect's father dialed the emergency number.
The alarmed emergency services found the body in the back seat of the car.
"We think he was completely overwhelmed with the matter," said S. '
Lawyer according to the New York Times.
The police authorities have suspended his client.
According to the lawyer, the victim walked against the direction of traffic in a werewolf costume.
It is unclear why the 29-year-old was walking along the highway.
The public prosecutor has now charged S. with a homicide, among other things.
His co-driver and mother were also charged, including manipulating evidence.
All of the accused had been arrested, but released under certain conditions.
