Big attention for small offspring: The zoo in Duisburg reports the birth of a Kirk-Dikdik.
The zoo announced that the unnamed male was born at the end of October.
When they came into the stable in the morning, they discovered the tiny creature, the zoo keepers report, according to the announcement.
The animal is safe and sound.
It is still in the stable most of the time, but in the next few days it will explore the outdoor area together with its mother and other dogs.
Kirk dikdiks are among the smallest antelopes in the world.
When fully grown, they can weigh around 5.5 kilograms and be 30 centimeters tall.
In the wild, they mainly live in the steppes of East Africa.
