Waste tax increases to 312 euros in 2021, Campania at the top

(HANDLE) (ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 26 - The waste tax paid on average in 2021 by a family in Italy is 312 euros, with an increase of 1.5% compared to the previous year. The region with the highest expenditure remains Campania (416 euros, -0.6% compared to 2020) while the region with the lowest average expenditure is Veneto (232 euros), where there is also a decrease of approximately 4% compared to the previo


(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 26 - The waste tax paid on average in 2021 by a family in Italy is 312 euros, with an increase of 1.5% compared to the previous year. The region with the highest expenditure remains Campania (416 euros, -0.6% compared to 2020) while the region with the lowest average expenditure is Veneto (232 euros), where there is also a decrease of approximately 4% compared to the previous year. This is the picture that emerges from the annual survey by the Cittadinanzattiva Observatory on prices and tariffs, according to which at the territorial level there are increases in twelve regions: double-digit increase in Liguria (+ 10.3%), followed by Basilicata with +8, 1%, Molise with + 6.1% and Calabria with + 5.9%; tariffs decreased in six: in Sardinia there was a -5% and in Veneto a -3.8%. 



The most expensive waste tax in Italy is confirmed in Catania, where however the rate remained at 504 euros, stable on 2020, while Potenza is the cheapest capital with 131 euros, but up compared to 121 euros in 2020, according to the survey of the prices and tariffs Observatory of Cittadinanzattiva, on the costs incurred by citizens for the disposal of waste in all the provincial capitals, which in 2021 takes as a reference a typical family of 3 people and a 100 square meter house.



Compared to the 112 provincial capitals examined, increases were found (compared to 2020) in 53 capitals, situations of stability in 37 and decreases in 22. In Vibo Valentia the highest increase (+ 44.9%) , in Rovigo the most significant decrease (-23%).

At the level of geographical areas, waste costs less in the North (on average 270 euros, + 1.6% compared to 2020), followed by the Center (313 euros, + 2.4%), and finally the South, more expensive (353 euro, + 1.3%).
