With an Instagram post, US pop star Pink caused sales of a small schnapps distillery in Western Pomerania to skyrocket.

More of a herbal liqueur praised by the singer was sent in three weeks than normally in six months, said Veit Vielhaber from the Schloss Zinzow distillery (Vorpommern-Greifswald district).

Then the supply was empty for the time being.

Pink had assured in the post from the beginning of October that she did not want to do cheap advertising.

Regarding the photo of a bottle and a filled glass, it was said that this should rather be understood as a call for help to get more of it.

Pink has around 8.6 million followers on Instagram alone.

The distillery normally produces around 800 liters of the herbal liqueur annually, which is bottled and sold by a Berlin marketing association.

For this year, Vielhaber is expecting around three times as much.

Interest in other products of the distillery has also increased.

There are also more walk-in customers.

Usually his business partner and master distiller Thomas Neubert takes care of the production on site and - for other spirits - also the labeling and direct sales.

"Then there were actually three or four of us in the distillery from one day to the next," recalls Vielhaber.

That went on for three to four weeks.

Master distiller and inventor of the drink Neubert had announced in October that Pink had already made the acquaintance of the 28 percent liqueur two years ago while visiting Berlin and also announced it on social networks, but at the time without the overwhelming response.

The aperitivo gets its aroma from bitter orange peel, cinnamon, clove, gentian root and wormwood.
