(ANSA) - TEGUCIGALPA, NOV 28 - Voting in Honduras for general elections regarding the president, three vice-presidents, 128 deputies of the National Congress, 20 of the Central American Parliament, and the mayors of 298 cities began today at 7 am (Italian time).
Already an hour before the start of the vote, Honduran media report, long lines of voters have formed who will have to choose the successor of President Juan Orlando Hernández from among numerous candidates, while only two - the mayor of the capital and a member of the conservative PartidoNacional, Nasry Asfura, and the leader of the left-wing LIBRE party and wife of former president Manuel Zelaya, Xiomara Castro - have a chance to make it.
The start of the voting process was given by the president of the National Electoral Council (Cne), Kelvin Aguirre, who recalled that the polling stations will close at 5 pm (Italian midnight) and that the first official results will be released after 8 pm. (ANSA).
