A European plane from the Frontex agency will be deployed from 1 December after the shipwreck of migrants in the Channel.
This was announced by the French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, at the end of the meeting in Calais with the ministers of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, as well as with the European Commissioner for Internal Affairs.
"There are too many dead", and "we cannot accept that there are others", said Gérald Darmanin, adding: "We want to work with our British friends".
In recent days, Paris had withdrawn the invitation to the British Minister Priti Patel to participate in the meeting in protest against a letter deemed "unacceptable" by Boris Johnson.
