No confirmation yet, but several suspected cases.
"This November 28, 2021, 8 possible cases of the Omicron variant were detected on the territory", reports this Sunday evening the Directorate General of Health (DGS) in a press release, without providing further information about these cases and to their profile.
"The sequencing of samples from these patients is prioritized or in the process of being organized in order to have diagnostic confirmation as soon as possible", specifies the ministry.
"There has not yet been identification of this type of variant on the national territory, but it is very probably a question of hours", had declared Sunday morning the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, at the 'after a visit to a Parisian vaccination center.
Later in the day, Sunday, on the CNews set, government spokesman Gabriel Attal had mentioned "a dozen" possible cases.
"These diagnoses will be passed to sequencing and we will know in the coming hours if there are positive cases of the variant," he added.
