(ANSA) - TURIN, 29 NOV - The conditions of the carabiniere injured in an attempt to thwart a drugstore robbery in Turin are serious.
The brigadier, on duty at the Oltre Dora company, was hit by two high chest stabs, one of which would have affected a lung, and by another slash in the leg.
Admitted to the San Giovanni Bosco hospital, where the provincial commander, General ClaudioLunardo, arrived, he is intubated.
What happened has yet to be clarified.
All I have to say is that he was in the pharmacy to buy medicines, free from service, and he found himself faced with two misrepresented therapists, who fled after the attack.
"It is a very serious fact. I will ask the provincial commander of the Arma for updates on the health of the heroic carabiniere, who intervened with a great spirit of service even if not operational. A big thank you to the Carabinieri and I hope that the brigadier can recover soon", says the mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo.
"I express my full solidarity with the Carabinieri and my profound closeness to the wounded sergeant", adds the mayor.
