On Twitter, several organizations (including PEN, Reporters Without Borders and Amnesty International) are calling for the detained Chinese blogger to be released using the hashtag #ZhangZhan.

Zhang Zhan reported as a blogger from Wuhan at the beginning of the corona pandemic.

She was imprisoned and tortured for reporting on the Chinese government's mishandling of the disease.

As a result, Zhang Zhan was sentenced to four years in prison.

She then went on a hunger strike and was hospitalized for malnutrition.

At the end of October, her mother and brother held her near death and requested her immediate release.

According to media reports, her life is in acute danger.

This is one of the reasons why the initiators on Twitter, in their solidarity campaign, call on the future government to campaign for Zhang Zhan's dismissal.

The campaign already has many prominent supporters on Twitter, including Dunja Hayali, Claus Kleber, Carolin Emcke, Margarete Stokowski and Bov Bjerg.
